Commercial Lending Officer

About this role

• The Commercial Lending Officer reports to the Chief Lending Officer and is responsible for maintaining a portfolio within the Commercial Lending Function for Citizens Bank.
• The primary responsibility of the Commercial Lending Officer is to ensure the Bank has Commercial business, building both the loan and deposit portfolios.
• **ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:** ***Loan Development:*** * Develop and acquire loan relationships that are consistent with the lending policy and strategy established by the Board.
• Ensure the Bank is appropriately marketing competitive and profitable commercial loan and deposit products consistent with established risk mitigation measures.
• * Approve or disapprove credits within authority limits.
• Recommend to the Chief Lending Officer or Chief Credit Officer, loans for presentation to the management and/or Board loan committees.
• ***Management:*** * Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to lending activities.
• * Proactively work with Credit Administration to ensure credit risk is appropriately managed.
• Ensures loan files are complete, up to date, and properly organized.
• * Collaborate with Chief Lending Officer and Chief Operations Officer to ensure the bank is meeting customer demand and support requirements as well as the banks strategic objectives for financial performance and risk.
• * Prepare budget forecasts and exercise control measures.
• ***Risk Rating:*** * Ensure commercial loans are properly risk rated.
• ***Problem Asset Management:*** * Collaborate with credit administration to ensure delinquent accounts are being effectively collected and that problem loan action plans are properly updated.
• ***Allowance for Loan Losses:*** * Works with Chief Credit Officer and CFO to ensure FAS 114 section accurately reflects loan impairment.
• *Applicants are required to authorize a credit check*.
